Community Engagement in Action: Discover Taikoo Place 2020

<
Life at Taikoo Place is never just about work. Wellbeing is a driving force behind every placemaking effort here; it supports a burgeoning community that values a healthy, balanced lifestyle, even during these days of social distancing. As the Discover Taikoo Place engagement programme returns this autumn, join your community in a range of wellness pop-ups and virtual events that will keep you balanced, inspired and thriving.

The Art of Positivity

The arts have the power to uplift and motivate us, this we know. Though many exhibitions and performances have been cancelled or postponed this year, Discover Taikoo Place is here to make the positive energy of the arts accessible through innovative ways.

A special collaboration of international and local artists will redefine the idea of distance between people through a creative digital dance. Norwegian visual artist Fredrik Tjærandsen, leading dance artist Yuri Ng, and acclaimed choreographer on the rise Frankie Ho will create a unique digital dance for the programme that incorporates elements of fashion and performing arts. Filmed at ArtisTree and various locations around Taikoo Place, the performance will debut on Taikoo Place’s Facebook page in November.

Lunchtime Food for Thought

Conversations are what keep us connected, and thanks to more regular virtual habits, we are now easily exchanging our ideas online in real time. Join the community in a series of online lunchtime forums to get inspired and explore topics including sustainability, art and, of course, technology itself.

To start, two panel discussions presented by ArtisTree Selects: Art Unchained will explore the impact of technology on the art world and, more broadly, the commercialisation of creativity. On 13 November, join art industry experts to discover how technology is transforming the business models inside the art industry and re-shaping the experience of art lovers and collectors. This will be followed by a discussion about blockchain technology and consumerism on 20 November.

Sustainability has also been a hot topic for years, and if you’re curious about how the Taikoo Place community is contributing to a more sustainable future, then don’t miss the live-streamed talks hosted by Honestly Green and Green Queen this December. Through a research study guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the talks will look into different sustainability initiatives developed by Taikoo Place tenants.
