Discover Taikoo Place: Sustainability lunchtime talks

Sustainability has been a hot topic for years, and if you’re curious about how the Taikoo Place community is contributing to a more sustainable future, then the Sustainability Lunchtime Talks would be a great opportunity to discover their ‘green’ initiatives. Videos are available for rewatch on the Taikoo Place YouTube channel.

As part of Discover Taikoo Place, this series of online lunchtime talk introduced the sustainability initiatives developed by brands based in Taikoo Place. The discussions took a deep dive into the research led by the two leading sustainability advocates Honestly Green and Green Queen. By researching sustainability projects among a selection of Taikoo Place tenants, Honestly Green and Green Queen produced the case studies based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). They explored how those projects were executed in real life, uncovering their true impacts on society and the environment.

Week 1 – PALO IT

Week 2 – GUERLAIN
25 March 2021, 12.30pm
GUERLAIN, global leading beauty and cosmetics brand, stepped up to discuss their commitment to global sustainability responsibilities in the multi-billion dollar industry.

Week 3 – SaladStop!
1 April 2021, 12.30pm

SaladStop!, healthy food chain, demonstrated how societal values and non-financial goals drive their sustainability initiatives in the fast-growing healthy food market.

Each session has exemplified their cases as subjects for discussion. The talks were live streamed, moderated by Angie Lau, Founder and CEO of Forkast.News. 

Opening these cases to the public is a great opportunity to inspire businesses and the wider community in positively influencing how they will operate for a better future.

More about the studies
Led by Honestly Green and Green Queen, the studies will involve students enrolled in the University of Hong Kong’s Social Venture Management Course, a credit-bearing experiential learning course that has partnered with more than 30 social impact organisations such as The 24-Hour Race, Soap Cycling, Box of Hope, G.R.E.E.N. Hospitality.

Honestly Green
Founded by Hong Kong-based independent food writer Janice Leung Hayes in 2014, Honestly Green is a social enterprise consultancy that considers sustainability holistically and critically, at the nexus of people, planet, technology and business. Honestly Green is also the co-founder of Tong Chong Street Market in Taikoo Place.

Green Queen
Founded by serial entrepreneur Sonalie Figueiras in 2011, Green Queen is an impact media platform based in Hong Kong advocating for social and environmental change.
