APITA Eatery Food Court

APITA Eatery is ending 2022 with a bang of a launch! Fans of Japanese food–and who isn’t?-will be excited to explore every single stall in the new food court on APITA’s basement level. It’s chock full of all the Japanese flavours that you have been craving, and you’ll be spoiled for choice by the array of vendors on hand. There’s Cafe Kobe Kitanozaka with Japanese-style spaghetti and omelettes, popular sandwich outlet MOS Burger, Japan’s largest udon chain Marugame, ramen noodles at Yokohama Mentaishou, and much, much more! Now you don’t need a plane ticket to score a taste of authentic Japanese fast food–it’s just a few steps away from the office.

ENBUYA

Now that the weather is getting a bit chilly, it feels like a good moment for gathering with friends and sizzling some tasty meat over a hot fire. Just in time for the season a great option for table BBQ has opened in the neighbourhood. Enbuya is a Japanese yakiniku spot that specialises in wagyu beef – all you can eat! – at mouthwateringly affordable prices. If wagyu isn’t your thing, they also offer udon and bibimbap selections on their menu. Enbuya looks to be a good bet for a quick lunch, or a fun, leisurely after-work dinner.

AFFEE

While it's true that decent coffee shops are a dime a dozen now in Hong Kong, there are still but a handful of truly excellent cafes, worth going out of your way to visit. Affee (pronounced Ah-FEH) cafe in Kennedy Town is one of them, and the great news is that after their stint in Tong Chong Street Market, Affee’s four coffee-enthusiast owners have decided to open a permanent establishment right here in Quarry Bay. Their unique menu includes a choice of “nutty” or “fruity” blends for your flat whites, lattes and caps, as well as for their superb hand drip pour overs. Their non-coffee offerings are standouts too – the Hojicha latte is rich and satisfying and the hot chocolate made with Ecuadorean caramelised milk chocolate is the stuff of dreams.

Christmas Pop-Up at Tong Chong Street Market

Tong Chong Street Market has returned in full festive force in December. Soak up that holiday vibe while enjoying artisan coffee at Hypebeans and Sofe Coffee, a slice of the popular chiffon cake made with finest natural ingredients at JOMO and more. Top it off with a mug of Chokohood’s hot chocolate as you squeeze in some last-minute sustainable gift shopping at Fashion Clinic by T, and The Scentist.

HAVN x Muuse Reusable Cup Day

Let’s hear it for our Taikoo Place community for giving such solid support to everyday sustainability! Muuse reusable cups have hit more than 15,000 borrows since the service began in November 2020. That’s a lot of landfill space saved.

CITYPLAZA’s “Story Traveller” Christmas Installation and Festive Events

Every year we eagerly await the unveiling of Cityplaza’s gorgeous and creative seasonal decorations, and they never disappoint. This year’s presentation, as always, sets a new high bar for originality. You’ll want to set aside a moment in your day to experience the wonder, as favourite Christmas stories and fantasies come alive in seven festive interactive installations in Cityplaza Atrium and Centre Bridge.

This year’s theme is “Story Traveller”, and the displays feature classic Christmas tales like The Snowman, The Nutcracker, and The Polar Express. The centrepiece of the extravaganza is an 11-metre-tall Christmas Tree, whose colourful branches resemble the pages of books being flipped. Inside the book’s pages, a wild garden of giant sculpted flowers bursts into life. Designed by local illustrators, the interior is not only beautiful – it makes a perfect backdrop for your Christmas selfies.
