4 Ways to Share to Kick-Off the Year of the Tiger

<

• Here are four ways to share with ideas from around Taikoo Place this Lunar New Year
• The Lunar New Year is fast approaching – are you ready for it? Here are four ways to share your joy and best wishes with friends and family to jump-start this year.

Share your love of reading

More so than before, we’ve appreciated the idea of downtime – and how a good declutter can do wonders for our mental health. And what’s better than slowing down by picking up a book? Share that love of reading by donating your preloved books to Books for Love @ $10. Returning after a two-year hiatus, the Books for Love donation drive is happening throughout January and culminates at a charity sale at ArtisTree in April. With all proceeds going to support The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong & Agency for Volunteer Service, there’s no excuse not to pass on the titles you’ve enjoyed – and not to pick up some new reads to refill those shelves with, too.

Share a set of sweet wishes

Even the fiercest tiger needs a little something sweet sometimes, and Lady M at Devon House has a charming way to share your greetings this New Year. The Lunar New Year Tiger Gift Set opens up to reveal a selection of new candies and sweet creations from the Lady M Bon Bon collection. Put a modern spin to your festive candy assortment with Sesame Praline Orbs, Apricot Jellies, chocolate and hazelnut Gianduja Crêpe Biscuits, and more. Custom-designed laisee packets complete the set with a design featuring gold tigers, plum blossoms and lucky cloud elements to showcase the spirit of prosperity this year.

Share some luck – and give back, too

Now, on to one of our favourite New Year activities: giving and receiving lucky red packets. Those working here at Taikoo Place are in luck – you can redeem a beautiful set of laisee packets at Taikoo Place information counters with Taikoo Social. These limited-edition packets take on a design inspired by the Please Be Seated installation unveiled last year at Taikoo Park; artist Paul Cocksedge’s rippling profiles have been reinterpreted here to celebrate the connections that grow – and continue to grow – among our community. After the holiday, keep an eye out for used laisee packet collection points around Taikoo Place to keep on giving (back)…

Share an abundance of delicious eats

Lunar New Year isn’t really Lunar New Year if some feasting isn’t involved! This year, members of The Refinery can enjoy delicious and comforting New Year cakes in three ways: traditional turnip cake, Taro Cake with Black Truffle, and Rose and Black Sugar New Year Pudding. Furthermore, Chef Jacky has also prepared a special Deluxe Treasure Pot for you to enjoy at home, which includes braised fish maw, Japanese conpoy, sun-dried oysters, pork belly and more of the favourite poon choi ingredients. Look forward to indulging in these and other celebratory eats to ring in the Year of the Tiger!
