With More Sustainable Culinary Collaboration and Innovations

Co-presented by Swire Properties and the emerging social enterprise Honestly Green, the Tong Chong Street Market debuted October last year will return on 20 March through 12 June. The street-food market opened doors for public acknowledgement to food-cycle awareness and a lot of creative culinary ideas were made happened. This spring season will bring about more engaging collaboration amongst the like-minded community and introduce latest trends in food sustainability.

Among the sumptuous and exciting collection of food choices, 11 new, homegrown restaurant vendors  will be featured including Bagoes, Be-Juiced, CRFT-PIT, Golden Pig, jrink, Lola's Ice Pops, MAMA Burger & Lobster, Noodle and Dog, Pop-it, The Bowl and Vegelink; while five popular outlets will return, namely Bread & Beast, Pololi, Teakha, Via Tokyo, and Second Draft (TAP), and each of them will deliver unique and creative signature dishes that are only available at the market.

“With our continuing partnership with Honestly Green, Swire Properties is determined to show our long-term dedication in promoting food sustainability and supporting local young entrepreneurs in our community,” said Babby Fung, Head of Office Marketing, Swire Properties. “The successful start empowers us to return with a more promising second season that brings closer collaboration amongst the like-minded culinary masters and local farmers, as well as to encourage the public to integrate food sustainability into their daily lives. In addition, we are cooperating with new vendors such as the Fish Marketing Organisation and the plant-based concept advocate Green Monday, manifesting Swire Properties’ vision in advocating a sustainable and healthy food culture as the market continues to grow organically.”

The marketplace will encompass everything from local marine fish, fresh produce grown by certified local organic farmers and unconventional packaged food to creative recipes, cooking tips and the latest gourmet trends. In addition, to further encourage an all-rounded move in living sustainably for the good of mind, body and soul, a new booth will be set to offer market-goers tips for healthy living. They can bring home the exclusive pack of seeds with special recipe to grow and taste their own food by donating money to support Food Angel, the food rescue and food assistance programme that promotes food cycle awareness.

Available from 20 March to 12 June, every Sunday from 11:00am – 5:00pm, the market will feature stalls selling meat, preserves, baked goods, organic fruits and vegetables, as well as exclusive signature dishes and drinks by the featured restaurants.
