On 9th December 2017 (Saturday), 35 adventurers will abseil 1,000 feet to the ground from the top of the One Island East: the most iconic building on eastern Hong Kong Island, to raise fund for Outward Bound Hong Kong.
Following the success of two similar events in London, Descent of the Shard, and The City Three Peaks Challenge, this is only the third such event to take place in the world and a first for Hong Kong. The same team who designed and delivered the London events has been invited to ensure the safe execution of the program.
Forty abseilers, (some of them supported by well known enterprises), are all for the purpose of supporting Outward Bound Hong Kong with a great charity cause, while taking part in a nerve-wracking adventure challenge.
Over the years, more than two hundred thousand participants, including young offenders, youth at risk of gang involvement, drug rehabilitants, ethnic minorities, survivors of cancer, the physically disabled, etc., have benefited from Outward Bound experience. Funds raised from the event will help support young people of Hong Kong who would otherwise not have the means or opportunity, to have access to challenging and adventurous Outward Bound courses. These courses help young people in developing their self-confidence, skills and positive attitudes, which in turn aid future success at school, work and for life.
