Featuring the theme “Every book is a treasure” this year, the in-person portion of Swire Properties’ flagship charity event, “BOOKS FOR LOVE @ $10”, kicks off on 8 May 2025 at Taikoo Place and offers over 300,000 pre-loved quality books in 14 categories to reading aficionados young and old.
With the goal of promoting the joy of reading and spreading the healing power of words, the 13th edition of this annual community-outreach event runs for two consecutive weekends – from 8 to 11 May and 15 to 18 May 2025 at ArtisTree and 18/F, Berkshire House, Taikoo Place.
Among the many highlights, series of wellness-themed activities and exclusive things to do for families to enjoy, the special “Buy 10, Get Two” offer – where each book is priced at HK$10 - is a cannot-miss promotion.

“BOOKS FOR LOVE @$10” is sponsored by Swire Properties and is co-organised by the Swire Properties Community Ambassador Programme, The Boys’ & Girls’ Association (BGCA) and Agency for Voluntary Service (AVS). Delighting readers young and old since 2009, the event raised a record HK$1,360,000-plus last year.
Over 300,000 pre-loved books were collected this year, and 9,000 high-quality children’s books were sold during the online portion of the charity sale. In total, the 2025 edition of the event has mobilised more than 7,000 volunteers. All proceeds from “BOOKS FOR LOVE @ $10” will go to the “Treasure Trove” project led by the BGCA and for AVS to promote the development of sustainable volunteerism.
