POP-UP CINEMA AT ARTISTREE

To celebrate the opening of the brand new MOViE MOViE cinema at Cityplaza this autumn, with the support of MOViE MOViE, ArtisTree will bring a series of special screenings to film-enthusiasts in September. The two-week multi-genre programme has plenty to offer, from documentaries, animation to indie shorts by emerging Hong Kong directors. 

You will gain free access to the screenings via Taikoo Social. The first 100 guests at each screening will get free MOViE MOViE Membership (MMM)(Only Applicable to MOViE MOViE Cityplaza) with complimentary Broadway Circuit tickets. Terms and Conditions applies.  

Lunchtime Screenings at 1pm
A series of short animations by acclaimed Japanese animator Takashi Nakamura and Hiroyasu Ishida and indie mircofilms by Hong Kong young directors will be made available on Tuesdays and Fridays. Each screening will last approximately 40 minutes.

5, 12 September 

Short animations including Rain Town, Sonny Boy & Dewdrop Girl, and Fumiko’s Confession produced by up-and-coming Japanese animator Hiroyasu Ishida will be shown.  There’ll also be the Portrait Studio created by Takashi Nakamura, an accomplished Japanese animator.

Selected indie shorts created by award winners of the 4th of Microfilm Production Support Scheme will be presented. Sponsored by CreateHK, the Microfilm Production Support Scheme (Music) aims to nurture creative start-ups in the production of microfilms.

The Suicide shop

Created by award-winning French film director, Patrice Leconte, the Suicide Shop is an animated musical about a happy child born into a depressed family that sells equipment to help people commit suicide.

Bolshoi Babylon 

Bolshoi Babylon is a documentary film directed by Nick Read. It is about the history of Russia's Bolshoi Theatre, including Pavel Dmitrichenko's 2013 acid attack on Sergei Filin, the former Director of the Bolshoi Theater from 2011 through 2016.

RESET

RESET depicts renowned choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied (best known for choreographing the dance sequences in Black Swan) as he attempts to rejuvenate the Paris Opera Ballet in his new position as director.
